Current Science Issues: Global Warming? It was -11 this morning!

"Current Science Issues: Global Warming? It was -11 this morning!: So, there's been huge talk for a long time about "global warming." I don't buy it. First, I woke up this morning to -11 ..."

While I do agree, that parts of Global Warming could be a money scam, I, myself, who is not a scientist, have found some evidence to prove that parts of global warming could be true.
While you stated that scientists are faking their facts, I have found scientific evidence that greenhouse gases have risen. This, is most likely caused by human actions such as overuse of transportation, and industries burning fossil fuels, and as well as from the chemical reactions. As well as that, I have found information, saying that global warming does not always mean that temperatures are increasingly rising. There can, and there is more than one thing going on that contribute to the idea of global warming. The information states that in the last decade, there has been both record high temperatures and record low temperatures. So that is one idea.
On the other hand, the side of me that wanted to dig a little deeper, because I believe, if you informed yourself, you could be right... I looked up some information. Sources also say, that maybe it isn't global warming, but... global cooling. In the last 10 years, record lows have been set, and now, scientists fear that we are on another trend. BUT! What I have found out, from a personal source (my grandma) and from the internet, is that the Earth heats and cools in cycles. When my grandmother was a teenager, the big scandal was indeed, global cooling, and now, it is global warming. So, it is plausible that global cooling, and global warming is real, but, the idea that it is VERY dangerous is not determined. My personal opinion, is that, global warming, and global cooling is not something set off by human actions, but is, indeed, a natural, Earthly cycle.

  1. Interesting take on the assignment. I appreciate that you aimed to research and find proof of the initial post, rather than assume it all false.
However, be careful when doing in-text references to sources. Saying things like "my grandma, and the internet" are less reliable than specific scientific sources.
Also, watch your grammar. Commas are helpful, but they do not need to be used quite as frequently. Stick to commas in a series, commas to set off subordinate clauses at the beginning of sentences, and commas to separate two independent clauses connected by a conjunction.
Commas in a series: I bought bread, milk, and eggs.
Commas to set off subordinate clauses: Because I was so tired, I went to bed at 8.
Commas with independent clauses and conjunctions: My grandma was alive in the 60s, and she said global cooling was the major discussion.
These are the most commonly used commas.
